Jock McGraw - Scottish Folk Song

Jock McGraw / The Gallant Forty-Twa, an old Scottish folk song, i took verses from some traditional versions and other parts from the great Aidan Moffat.
ye winna fuck wi Jock McGraw, Lyrics below;
JOCK MCGRAW

Well Jock he was a soldier bold,
And only twenty-five years old;
A tougher buck you never seen
From Inverness to Gretna Green.

When Jock was young his father said
He’d put him in a decent trade,
But Jock had only dreams to be
A hero of the infantry.

Chorus:
The wind may blaw, the cock may caw,
the rain may rain and the snow may snow
But ye winna fuck wi Jock MacGraw,
The biggest bugger in the Forty-Twa!

The sergeant who enlisted him,
He winked his eye and with a grin,
“says a man like you so stout and tall
Could never be killed by a cannon ball!”

The captain then when he came round,
He looked Jock up and he looked him down,
And then says he, "I'll take a guess ---
Ye must be the beast from auld Loch Ness!”

Chorus:
The wind may blaw, the cock may caw,
the rain may rain and the snow may snow
But ye winna fuck wi Jock MacGraw,
The biggest bugger in the Forty-Twa!

Out at war across the sea
the general sent after him
and when jock got there wi' his big gun
the battle was as good as won.

For the enemy a' ran awa'
when they caught sight o' Big McGraw
A man like Jock so big and neat,
ye know yersel' can never be beat.
