1:2 Mississippi River Headwaters, Lake Itasca to Coffee Pot paddling in low water Day 1

Today we begin our journey down the Mississippi River and paddle from its source at Lake Itasca fifteen miles to our first campsite at Coffee Pot Landing. The Mississippi River starts as a shallow stream that you can cross by foot. The water is especially low this year and we had to do a bit of extra walking here in the headwaters but none the less the start to an incredible experience. Join us as we wind our way through the headwaters and take in some of the most beautiful nature in the country. Cheers
