BIRTH STORY:
Baby Grier was born 9/3 at 2:17pm weighing 6lbs 4oz and 19" long. I was 37 weeks + 6!

His birth story is truly amazing! He was born en caul, the sac burst after his head was out!

Contractions started at 10pm Friday night. We kept waiting for them to hit the 3:1:1 pattern that our birth center told us to wait for, but that never came. By 130pm Saturday contractions became VERY intense and were happening about every minute. (I believe was transitional labor). Contractions were so intense that I threw up. I went to go shower and as I was getting out, I had another intense contraction but this time it felt like Grier was trying to come out. They were so intense and I felt a lot of pressure like baby was ready to come. I told my husband that the baby was coming and that we HAD to go to the birth center immediately. James drove like a mad man with our hazards on, people were parting out of our way thankfully while I'm screaming. (I cant forget to mention that we had to stop for gas on the way ha!)

We arrived at the birth center at 2:00 pm, and rushed into our birth room, and only 17 minutes later he was born! His heart rate dropped below 100 and we almost had to be transferred to the hospital, but I was able to push him out in 3 pushes and he ended up being safe and healthy!

So amazing how my body just took over and knew that Grier needed to be born. I birthed naturally and he was born partially en caul (in his amniotic sac)! What a crazy day! So thankful that he is here and healthy and is such a content happy new addition to our family of now 3! 💙

The most incredible experience of my life! So grateful for our safe delivery and our beautiful baby boy.

*I planned on giving birth in the birth tub, but Grier came so fast that that didn't happen. We told the birth center we were headed in around 130-145 and arrived at 2 so the birth tub was not full enough to birth in it by the time we arrived!
