One of Scotland's fiercest and closest football rivalries is contested between Motherwell FC and Hamilton Academical FC in the South Lanarkshire Derby just outside of Glasgow.

Obviously, the biggest rivalry in Scotland is the Old Firm (Celtic v Rangers) but this is a fascinating one to learn about.

Both Motherwell and Hamilton play in the top division of Scottish football (at the time of writing), The Scottish Premier League.
