Dynasty - Transformers Animated Tribute

Three Autobot Academy cadets: Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime and Elita-1 go to an unknown planet, searching for the wreckage of a Decepticon warship. The trip goes from an exciting expedition to a fight for survival as the planet is invested with giant spiders. The three end up getting separated. Optimus finds the warship but is ambushed by the spiders when Elita comes to his rescue. The two make a quick escape, using energon cubes to explode and distract the spiders, but Elita's downloading powers stop and her grappling claw disappears. Optimus tries to rescue her, but misses her servo and Elita is sent into the pit of spiders and exploding energon.
With seconds to spare, Optimus grabs Sentinel and the two make their escape with Elita watching. When Optimus and Sentinel reach Cybertron, they explain what happened. Although it was Sentinel's idea to go to the planet, Optimus takes all the blame and is expelled from the academy, only allowed to command a rag tag group in a rust bucket of a ship.
Years later and on another planet by the name of Earth, Optimus battles a spider bot by the name of Blackarachnia to defend his companions. During the fight, Optimus realizes the femme he's fighting is actually his friend who was thought to be dead: Elita-1, who sided with the Decepticons after being left behind and turned into a techno organic.
Later, Sentinel and his group arrive on Earth and the Prime battles Blackarachnia. During the fight, Blackarachnia reveals who she is. Disgusted, Sentinel battles his once former friend, but is defeated. Optimus soon arrives to save Sentinel and stop Blackarachnia, only for them to face a common enemy, an unstable Waspinator. As this enemy is about to explode, Blackarachnia uses her webbing to shield the others from the explosion.
Once again, they believe they're friend is deactivated. While Optimus believes she saved them, Sentinel - still reeling from the new truth - believes she used the explosion to escape from capture and he walks away from the group.

While I love many Transformers shows, including Transformer Prime, Robots in Disguise 2015 and even the Movieverse (both Knight and Bay), I always return to Transformers Animated. The characters are fun and many of the characters have development (which is something I can't say for all the shows). It's a lighthearted show that makes me feel better when I'm down. I also love how its taken a different turn in the storyline from other Transformers shows and movies to make it unique.
