Although low voltage testing, such as the meg-ohm test, is commonly used on electric motors, generators and windings, only high voltage testing can reveal insulation weaknesses that – while not a problem right now – will almost certainly degrade in the future. Using Baker Instruments static motor analyzers to find these weaknesses can inform predictive maintenance activities as well as troubleshooting.
