Drone crash recovery and investigation. The technical version. HD tomorrow.

Trying a new strategy filming trains flying sideways. It went wild. In Swedish: "Det gick åt skogen, bokstavligen". Using fast forward is recommended according to the tips below.
The crash investigation has started.
Time 13:00. The expected train joins the show.
By some unknown reason the connection from the drone to the controller dropped from 3 bars to zero and Return To Home kicked in. Then bla bla about the close airport blocked the first attempts to stop RTH. The button on the controller managed to stop RTH. Then killing the airport message could be done.
However, the drone did some flying home. That brought the drone closer to the mountains north of the lake, and it was not observed. The drone was no longer at the meddle of the 800 meter wide lake.
At the time 14:25 the drone crashes, into the trees. Found 52 minutes later.
Time 14:35. The drone signal is lost completely.
Collected all equipment and entered the car having the hope that the built in function "Find my drone" could provide help. It surely did!
Looking at the trace shown in F m d the drone signal was picked up driven nearby. Mostly the mountain offers 50 feet of rock walls but 2 places were identified were the drone signal was picked up. The next headache was to find a place to park the car. Then walking some 1/2 mile backwards, looking for a possibility to start the mountain climbing took on.
Time 15:35. Sitting in the car the "Find my drone" is activated. Noticing the road passing the crash site driving started.
Note the function "Start flashing and beeping"! That gave crucial help to finally find the drone.
Time 19:20. Started driving. Note how the blue dot to the right is moving.
Time 21:17. Picking up the first drone signal. It's alive!
Time 21:28. Signal lost.
Time 21:46. Signal found.
Time 21:49. This was a referenced point for the expedition!
Time 21:54. Signal lost again.
Time 23:22. A place for parking the car is found. Then walking the road watching the controller.
Time 28:14. Close to the drone. Now looking for a way to attack the mountain. The usual 30 feet, or more, rock walls is not an option....
Time 29:00. Path finding and climbing takes on.
The climb takes some 30 - 35 minutes!!!!! Fast forward if You like....
Fiddling with the controller, searching for a compass....
Watch how the blue arrow changes direction relative the blue dot. No straight path/trail to follow. Only the brutal nature mostly in the shape of large rock sides.
Note the comforting radio signal bars!
The total blacks are there because the controller was put in power save mode and dropped down in the pocket! First part of the climbing the controller was held in the hand! As the terrain got more difficult, and the muscle power lower, the pocket was the best place. Fast forward..
Time 40:05. Searching for something, or an accident...
Time 41:00. Note the full bar signal strength! Getting closer!
Time 48:38. Waking the controller up and using the DJI function "BLINK AND BEEP". I hear it! That boost the since long over tired muscles.
Fast forward the blackies.
Time 01:07:00. FOUND THE DRONE. Totally exhausted. Examining the drone only one prop had lost a small piece. No broken arms! At home the gimbal was verified and looks like unharmed. Wow. It's a tank..
