When I was 7 I saw Elephant Man on TV. It's still the most painful motion picture I have ever experienced. I have never watched it again. My memory is that Joseph Merrick tries to fit into proper society, he goes to a party in a suit. No matter what he does, he cannot escape who he is and everyone continues to treat him like a freak. The end of the movie, he wants to lie down to sleep, once in his life, he wants to be a normal person. He dies in his sleep.
I found out I was Autistic at 45 years old. I've gone to parties in suits. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't hide the fact that I was the Elephant Man. I have realized if I keep trying to be normal, I will die. TimBuktuDraws.com
