His attack and choice of scales and note placement was absolutely genius.

So many people have never heard this song off of the street Survivors album from 1977.
This entire album is a masterpiece, but this song right here has some very deep lyrics I think everybody should hear.

and then the plane crash October 20, 1977

Allen Collins is one of the top five greatest song writers, melody, and lead solo writers to ever touch a guitar.

Skynyrd was one step from becoming international mega stars… Street survivors would have taken them there if only Walter McCrary and William Gray would’ve made better choices as pilots of the airplane.

Lynyrd Skynyrd already had three nights sold out in January 1978 at Madison Square Garden which was Ronnie Van Zant’s ultimate goal was to perform their where all the prior and current legends had performed.

Lynyrd Skynyrd was bigger than Zeppelin by this time and if the crash had not happened, they would’ve been the highest grossing rock act in the world.
