Does Cornmeal Make Chubby Worms 🪱

I've just begun adding a little ground cornmeal to my Oblong Planters as a food for my Red Wigglers. These 2 Planters aren't actually meant for Worm breeding, but it seems to be working. The worms appear happy and multiplying rapidly. My only problem has been putting down a heavy layer of cornmeal and it forms a rubbery, sponge clump. I don't think the worms are able to break it down. I have to break it apart with my fingers. I hope to fatten the worms so sprinkling and scattering the cornmeal might be the answer. 🤞
