PRE-ARRIVAL - Firefighters rescue 4 dogs from burning house
At 6:53PM Lehigh County transmitted the box for a house fire at 17 S. 5th Street in Coplay, Pennsylvania sending Engines 511, Rescue 541, Whitehall Quint 3 (LC3831), Engine 13 (LC 3811) and Medic 62 (Cetronia).
Whitehall Deputy 35 (Bilder) arrived and reported smoke showing and transmitted a second alarm with entrapment. Neighbors told the chief that an elderly woman resides in the house and they weren't sure if she was inside along with 4 dogs.
Whitehall Quint 3 arrived first-due and stretched a hand line to the side door. Engine 511 arrived second and assisted the first-Due.
Whitehall Engine 4 arrived and a crew of two went in the front door to conduct a search.
Firefighters found a small kitchen fire and extinguished the fire, checked for extension and vented.
No humans were found on the search. However, 4 dogs were removed alive from the dwelling and in care of EMS.
