Rain is set to sweep across the North Island, starting from late tonight in Northland and spreading south during tomorrow. Yellow Heavy Rain Watches have been issued for Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, northern Waikato, Gisborne/Tairāwhiti, and northern Hawke's Bay

Northland and northern Auckland could also see thunderstorms sparking off tomorrow morning and afternoon, and maybe even some small hail - eastern Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne/Tairāwhiti get in on that action tomorrow afternoon and evening

Can't forget the wind! Northland is under a yellow Strong Wind Watch tomorrow afternoon and evening, as southwesterlies come blowing through
