Caltrain Electrification Update October 2020

Welcome to another Caltrain electrification update! The footage shot in this video was filmed in early October 2020. The global pandemic has delayed the project, but construction is still progressing throughout the corridor. Construction has been focused on segments 2 and 4 and will proceed to segments 1 and 3 once the first two segments are substantially complete.

The first Stadler KISS EMU has been completed at their factory in Salt Lake City, UT and is awaiting shipment to the TTC at Pueblo, CO. The pandemic has also delayed the construction of the EMU’s, but despite the delays of the electrification and the EMU’s both projects appear that they will finish nearly simultaneously.
