Durham Code Connect 4 – Development Standards Part 2

Over the past several months, the new UDO consultants (Code Studio) have been drafting additional content for the new regulations, working to further the goals of Durham's Comprehensive Plan! We now have drafts of proposed “development standards” that will work in conjunction with the new zoning districts. “Development standards” are standards that apply across zoning districts and include standards for lighting, landscaping, parking, bicycle and mobility improvements, mass grading, transitions and buffers, and signs.

Code Studio has recorded a presentation (in Spanish and English) on the new draft content for review. Additionally, on June 3, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Code Studio hosted a virtual Q&A session on the proposed development standards to facilitate community feedback.
