What are the Acupuncture Meridians? Part 1

Nick is a highly qualified Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist, currently undertaking his PhD in Chinese Medicine. Running clinics in Oxford UK, Nick uses traditional techniques and principles combined with a thorough understanding of modern anatomy, physiology and pathology to achieve the most effective clinical results.

This lecture was given at the '2018 World TCM Acupuncture-Moxibustion Health Conference' at Cambridge University, Jesus College.

Here Nick examines the correlations between the Meridians of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, with Western Anatomical Structures and Systems. In part one I cover;
The Vascular System
The Nervous System
Fascia and Connective Tissue

He also provides some evidence for the working mechanism of Acupuncture, introducing the Fascia/Connective Tissue Hypothesis, and some of the fascinating implications of this theory.

Understanding the channels in relationship to real anatomical systems and structures is essential to fully understand Acupuncture practice.
