Re-entrant Superconductivity Through a Quantum Lifshitz Transition in Twisted Trilayer Graphene

Ethan Lake (MIT)
Recent experiments [1] have demonstrated that twisted trilayer graphene is a robust superconductor with two very interesting properties. One is that the pairing is likely to not be spin-singlet. Another is that while the superconductor is killed by a sufficiently strong in-plane magnetic field, at large fields a distinct type of superconductor rises up to take its place. In this talk, I will use a variety of evidence from experiment and theory to present one particularly natural explanation for these phenomena. This talk will be based on joint work with T. Senthil [2].
