Charlie Chaplin & Edna Purviance - I'm Only Me

Here's another tribute video featuring Charlie Chaplin and Edna Purviance. This one features the fabulous song "I'm only Me When I'm With You" by Taylor Swift. An odd pairing at first, but this song describes, I believe, the relationship between Edna and Charlie which flourished romantically between 1915 til around 1918 or so. Not only was Edna Chaplin's leading lady in his films during those early years, but I think she kept him levelheaded as well...or as much to normal Chaplin would ever be. Even after their romantic relationship ended, Edna continued to be Chaplin's leading lady til 1923. Edna isn't just a footnote to those early Hollywood days, but I think she was an important figure in cinema. Being the muse for the "most famous man in the world" at a time when Chaplin ruled not only Hollywood, but the world, I think one can see a little bit of Edna's influence on his work. Enjoy.....
