When WCBS-FM became JACK ...and back to WCBS-FM !

This is radio history.

On June 3, 2005, WCBS-FM's former owners bluntly turned the station into a non-DJ format called JACK.

Without even knowing what was about to happen, a listener taped what was to be the last moments of the station, as you'll hear a montage of some of the DJ's last minutes. As you'll hear, nobody knew they were about to be fired, except Bill Brown, who clearly understood something was about to happen at the tail end of his show, just before the switch.

You will hear people like Harry Harrison, Mickey Dolenz, Cousin Brucie, etc.

WCBS-FM's last song was "The Summer wind".

9:40 Two years after, on July 12, 2007, the new owners had JACK hit the road, back to WCBS-FM since then, as you will hear the very moment it happened, including a great music-and-sound montage from 1964 to the Eighties, and the new DJs officially getting WCBS-FM back to where it once belonged !

Enjoy these New York City radio history moments !
