Private Subnet with NAT Gateway

In this FREE AWS video tutorial, you'll learn about using NAT Gateways in your AWS VPCs. In 10 minutes, we'll cover:

- Learn what a NAT Gateway is and its benefits
- Set up a NAT Gateway to enable Internet access for your Amazon EC2 instances in private subnets
- Configure Security Groups and Route tables

You can use a network address translation (NAT) gateway to enable instances in a private subnet to connect to the internet (via a public subnet) or to other AWS services, but prevent the internet from initiating a connection with those instances.

Another way you can enable this connectivity is by using a NAT Instance. There are pros and cons to each approach and as part of this course, we teach you what you need to know for the exam and your job when choosing between these two design options.
