Mood Changes and Menopause
When it comes to the psychological changes in menopause, the research data is controversial and inconsistent. Holly Lucille, ND, RN, women’s health expert and author of Bottom Line Inc’s The Natural Side of Menopause blog, talks about her experiences in treating mood changes in menopausal women. As women undergo the metamorphosis of menopause, Dr. Lucille suggests, they may become melancholy or irritable. Rather than viewing these changes as symptoms of an illness or problem, Dr. Lucille sees them as an opportunity for women to take stock of their lives and discover what is truly important to them as they move into the next stage of being.
