How to Learn a Torah reading

Using Rosh Chodesh Third Aliyah as an example - covers Groups 1-3

Couple options:

Beginners in Hebrew:
1. Read the verse
2. Chant the Trope
3. Chant the verse on the trope side
4. Chant the verse on the TORAH side

Intermediates in Hebrew / but getting the hang of Trope:
1. Chant the Tropes
2. Chant the verse on the trope side
3. Chant the verse on the TORAH side

Still having difficulty moving to the Torah side?
1. Read the Hebrew (maybe more than once if necessary)
2. Chant the Tropes up until an etnachtah or r'vi'i
3. Chant the Hebrew up until an etnachtah or r'vi'i
4. Chant the words in step 3 on the Torah side
5. Once your comfortable with above steps move on to the second half of the verse and repeat the process to the end of the verse (sof pasuk).
