How to train from home for Taekwon-Do ITF | Covid Workout
Mr Adrian Byrne goes through a Taekwon-Do ITF specific home workout to help you progress your Taekwon-Do skills when you can’t get to the gym.
With so many people stuck at home we’ve been getting lots of requests for ideas on how to train on your own, at home, in a small space.
We’d advise you to treat this time like you’re coming back from an injury or like it’s your off season from training. It’s a great time to focus on you! Pick a few areas you’ve been meaning to focus on for some time but just… never got around to it. Usually there’s plenty of these because working on some things just isn’t as much fun as getting to the club with your friends and getting a sweat on.
Still! These exercises are aimed at some of the small things that our students ALWAYS need to improve. They’re things that we see come up over and over again as coaches and that really hold back performances. They are:
Control of the moving parts in kicking techniques and combinations 1-14
Nailing walking stance and timing in fundamental techniques 15-18
Introducing the push up for those who find it challenging 19-22
Developing a strong punch you’re willing to test on the boards 23-27
Maybe some of these are relevant to you!
