How to Make Box Mounted Amp Subwoofer - DIY BUILD

Hello! What is going on, YouTube friends, brothers and sisters!? Here's another DIY budget build car subwoofer enclosure video and this time its a box-mounted amplifier enclosure. This project is for a client who requested a space saving and affordable everyday music listening bass enhancement into their Honda Mobilio. Without a further ado, let's get into the detailed section of the video!

00:00 - First off, unboxing all JBL components. JBL Club 1024 10" subwoofer and JBL Stage A3001 Class D mono amplifier.

00:17 - Box-Port Design II calculation.
00:25 - All the grunt works of cutting MDF sheet into size.
00:43 - Gluing and nailing the cut panels. The Lomvum electric nailer is put into tough action on this one!
00:55 - Cutting diagonal subwoofer box side panel. Angle is between 23-27 degrees is set on the table saw blade. Sorry I can't remember the exact degrees.
01:10 - Aero port hole cutting on the opposite side panel.
01:18 - Flaring PVC pipe for aero port using heat.
01:33 - Cutting the subwoofer mounting hole using trim router and DIY jig.
01:40 - Cutting out excess panel surface volume for the port bracing. Routing the edges provides smooth internal air movement.
01:58 - Gluing side and aero-port hole panels. Electric nailer is very handy in such holding them down together really fast.
02:15 - Gluing and nailing the internal port brace.
02:30 - Securing the PVC port pipe using hot glue.
02:55 - This step is entirely optional. Stapling down a meter of polyfiber felt stuffing inside the enclosure.
03:30 - Drill holes for the mounting the hardware. Use T-nuts and Allen Hex head Carbon steel bolts in securing the components.
03:58 - One final look before nailing and gluing the back cover.
04:25 - Trim router with a roundover bit every edge and corners for a sleek and seamless enclosure look and feel.
04:45 - Subwoofer enclosure carpeting. One of my favorite part but trust me its so exhausting.
05:00 - I always solder every electrical components and I wrap them up with heat shrink tubing afterwards to prevent oxygen from corroding the copper wires.
05:10 - An all-purpose sealant in sealing the plastic aero port. Also glues together with the PVC port pipe.
05:22 - Screw down spring loaded speaker terminal cup.
05:25 - Use the shock absorbing rubber grommets included in the subwoofer amplifier packaging in securing the amplifier on the other side. Hand-tighten down the bolts. Do not use powertools in doing this step. You might break the rubber grommets or worst, dent and break the amplifier thin steel mounting holes.
05:45 - Check subwoofer impedance using any multimeter. The JBL Club 1024 is switched into 2 Ohm. Final impedance is 2.5 Ohm.
05:55 - Finally, the most satisfying part of the project: Bolting down the subwoofer into its place.
06:20 - A short 12 gauge speaker cable in connecting the subwoofer and on-board amplifier. A nylon R-type wire clamp can secure the cable and give it a clean look.
06:35 - Final product showcase.
