Deike's ability to play bugle inspires formation of Blue Band predecessor
The Pennsylvania State College Cadet Band eventually grew into what we all know as the Penn State Blue Band. What many don't know is that a chance encounter between cadet George Deike and his commandant during an inspection, would actually become the seed that would start a Penn State tradition that remains strong until this day.
