How to Encapsulate Dried Flowers with Dip Powder Nail Art Tutorial

With Kiara Sky Dip Powder, the sky is the limit! There are so many different things that you can do with dip powder. We first showed you how to use it as sugar art and now we will show you how to encapsulate objects using only dip powder. This technique is done with regular acrylic powder all the time. Nail techs cap an object with clear acrylic powder so it can be seen well and gives more depth to nail artistry.

For this technique we use dried flowers. You first build your base using whatever dip colors you'd like to allow the flowers to stand out. Once that base is built, you add a layer of base coat and carefully set the flowers where you would like on the nail. The base glaze should allow the flower to adhere pretty easily. Once the flowers are on, pour clear powder over the top of the nail, allowing it to stick to the leftover base. Apply base again, painting right over the flowers as well. Dip onto clear powder. You may need to repeat this step once more to ensure the clear powder has completely covered the flowers. Add seal protect as usual and file to even out the surface and sides.

Since we are using gel polish for additional art, we skip the last seal protect and dip top coat and move directly into hand painting. Cure as usual. Then apply a gel top coat, watch as the colors from the flowers seemingly pop through the dip powder. The top coat will allow the vibrant colors to show through. Voila! Capped dried flowers using Dip Powder!
