It took me a little while to get back into the creative headspace after this holiday season. For some reason, this one was the hardest since my dad passed... Grief had me in a powerful chokehold & all I could do was try my best to keep breathing until it's grip loosened again.

After a lot of thought & consideration, I just knew that this song was the one that perfectly summed up how I was feeling going into this new year. I had forgotten about some of the amazing lyrical changes in Michael Bolton's *stunning* version & honestly, I sobbed like a baby when I revisited it. The lyrics (to me) sound like the longing for Heaven & the hero's welcome I'd receive there in the arms of my father that I've been so desperately dreaming of.

I hope this song fills you with encouragement in any grief or sadness you may be experiencing, & reminds you that one day we will all be reunited with those we've lost whom we love with all of our hearts. The best thing we can do in the meantime, while we travel along that "unknown road" is to live our lives the best that we can, in a way that would make our loved ones proud! There's a hero's welcome waiting for us all.
