How to Build a Sustainable Business: The Bootstrapped Approach
One of the things that being a bootstrapped company has allowed us to do, specifically a company where we've actively made the decision that we will never take funding for the business, is that it allows us to think a lot more long term than you otherwise would be able to.
I'm Andrew, co-founder of Cleverific. We've been in the Shopify order management business for 10 years. We intend to be in the business for another 10 years rather than just go around and jump to new things or look at the next shiny object. And part of that is our ethos for developing really deep knowledge in what we do.
It's a really big advantage I think in what we're able to do and how we're able to deliver for merchants. At the end of the day, rather than having to chase the next goal in order to keep our investors happy and then continue the cycle of growth at all costs, we're able to grow with the body of knowledge and also with the right merchants that we think carry the vision with us.
This bootstrapped approach means we can focus on building the best Shopify order management solution without the pressure of exit timelines or venture capital expectations. We're here for the long haul.
