House of Commons Western Harbour Cladding

Over the past week, I’ve been contacted by many constituents in Western Harbour who have been left in limbo due to the lack of cladding remediation programmes in Scotland.

While over 1,935 buildings have completed remediation in England, only two projects have even started in Scotland. That simply isn’t good enough for residents in Edinburgh North and Leith who deserve safe homes and clear answers.

In the House of Commons, I raised this and called for a written statement outlining the funding available and the joint work being undertaken between governments. Although building safety is devolved, residents cannot be left behind because of political boundaries.

Safe homes should never depend on postcode.

If you’re affected by cladding issues in Western Harbour or elsewhere in Edinburgh North and Leith, please do get in touch with my office.
