Caught in the act of selling stolen army supplies, three Confederate soldiers are sentenced to death by firing squad. Steel Downey, an explosives expert, Chattanooga Jim, a lone gunman, and Fidel Ramirez, a skilled horse thief, are offered a last-minute pardon. Their freedom, however, comes at a price: they must venture deep into the treacherous landscapes of Mexico on a perilous mission to retrieve a stolen shipment of gold, the Confederacy's last hope to fund its war efforts. The gold was taken by the traitorous Major Lloyd, who has deserted and fled south of the border.

The trio of condemned men must navigate a hostile territory teeming with bandits and enemy soldiers, all while being overseen by the staunch Lieutenant Logan who is tasked with ensuring they complete their mission. As they close in on their target, they find that alliances are fleeting and betrayal lurks around every corner. They must rely on their unique and deadly skills to survive ambushes, outsmart their cunning adversary, and confront their own troubled pasts in a desperate race against time to reclaim the gold and earn their freedom.
