High Speed Gearbox Bearing Failure – Pitting & Noise Issue (Roller Press) #planetarygearbox

During inspection of the high-speed gearbox on a roller press, abnormal noise was detected during operation.

After dismantling and checking the bearing condition, we found:
✔️ Roller surface pitting
✔️ Inner ring bearing pitting
✔️ Surface fatigue damage

⚠️ Bearing pitting is usually caused by:
• Lubrication failure or contamination
• Excessive load
• Misalignment
• Long-term operation without proper inspection

📌 If not corrected in time, this can lead to vibration increase, temperature rise, and major gearbox failure.

🔍 Recommended Action:
• Replace damaged bearings
• Check lubrication system
• Inspect shaft alignment
• Monitor vibration & temperature regularly
