In comparison, this figure stood at around 6.45 trillion U.S. dollars in 2000. The rise in the value of goods exported around the world reflects developments in international trade, globalization, and advances in technology.
In 2020, China was the largest source of goods exported around the world, with total merchandise exports valuing approximately 2.5 trillion U.S. dollars. That year, China was responsible for almost 13 percent of all trade goods exported around the world. The United States was the third largest exporters of goods that year.
