According to Aristotle, the individual is part of the whole, and if the whole is not well, then the part cannot be well. This is exactly what we realized the last 1,5 year with the coronavirus pandemic. What has this health crisis taught us? In a crisis, do we function as the Aristotelian whole or as individual parts? Will we leave this lesson behind or will it follow us forever? Do the COVID-19 era and its impact on our lives belong to the past or the future?

His academic interests focus on the comparative and historical analysis of social services. For 15 years, he had been working at universities in the UK. In 2017, he was elected Founding Professor, being the first director of the Center for Social Work and Social Justice at the University of Essex. He currently chairs the education committee of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) and the British Journal of Social Work in collaboration with the University of Oxford.
