My Sarracenia Purpurea isn't growing as well as I had hoped it would. I think I may have introduced it into full sun just a little too soon. Like my venus flytraps, it seems to have struggled with adapting to its new environment. The amount of new growing sprouting out is encouraging though and it seems to be taking off.

If I could have a do over, I would have been a little slower on introducing the Sarracenia trumpet pitcher plant to sun. Maybe gave it another 2 weeks at 3-4 hours of sun a day before leaving it out there full time. It does seem to have acclimated now and I'm hopeful that the pitchers will keep coming in!

If you would like to grow your own Sarracenia, you can buy one from the link above. For this plant I did mix my own soil. I have a peat moss, sillica sand and perlite mix that I made up myself. You can either make your own soil mix or check out the mix I linked above. You can see me making the soil below.

Make sure to keep them watered with distilled water and keep them in direct sunlight and they should be happy!
