An Altar for Susana Robles Desgarennes
On Sept. 30, 2017, we lost a member of our Mission community. Susana Robles Desgarennes—a mother of a four year old daughter—was killed by her ex in a murder-suicide in the Dolores Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. She was 20. Upon learning of her death, four of her former educators from Everett Middle School came together to build an Altar in her memory at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts. We interviewed one of them, Jose Carrasco, and created this short video. For more information, check out the upcoming issue of El Tecolote. Photos and video by Alexis Terrazas
