Mehra family too has their problems big and small. But the biggest problem of Mrs.Mehra is that none of her two sons Ajeet and Rajesh are prepared to marry. Ajeet, the serious and dependable one, who looks after the business, has no mind to marry while Rajesh being all the time busy dating and flirting with girls, has no time to marry. The other problem is Indu, the niece of thier old servnat. A gay and lively girl she is an eye-sore to Mrs. Mehra and the earlier she can be got rid off the better. But Mr.Mehra treats Indu just like his daughter and defends her on all occasions. Off the two brothers, Indu has respect verging on devotion for Ajeet with Rajesh, however, she is so often quarrelling over trivial matters that anybody on a superficial observation will remark that the two are leading a cat-and-dog life. In order to reform the wayward Rajesh, Mr.Mehra once tells him that they are financially broke and their business might go into liquidat- ion. Only one man can save them that is Bob Uncle, who stays in America and who is a moneyed man and who is even prepared to stand by them if only Rajesh leaves his playboy life and marries. One day, without any intimation, Bob Uncle comes and demands to see the girl he has been intimated about by Mr.Mehra, Flabbergasted and nervous, Rajesh tries to contact all his girl-frineds but all in vain. An idea suddenly flashes his mind There is Indu why not make use of her and present her as his would-be life-partner? She is dependent on the family she wont dare to protest! And the moment Bob Uncle will go back convinced, she can be thrown away like a piece of rag! But Rajesh never thought that Indu too is a human being with a dream of her own with a mind of her own. What were her reactions when she knew of this dirty game of the great betrayal of her trust upon Rajesh . Today, after a lapse of two years, when she has acquired all the accomplishments to brave the world, to move with upright head through the millions of people all around, can she not ignore him totally? Or is she inwardly still the same Indu, loving and pining for him in her mind of minds.
