Great horned owls courting and mating January 2020

A pair of great horned owls mating and demonstrating their courting rituals in January 2020 in Texas. Each time after mating the male immediately flies away; he usually returns in about an hour, sometimes with a food gift for the female. The pair spent hours on the nest canoodling for 5 consecutive nights, were gone for the next 4 nights, and then returned for another 4 nights. They then left and have been completely absent from our area for 10 days. We don't know whether to expect them to return or not.
