20 Years of Quadrupled Line Construction, Odakyu Electric Railway Front View

Odakyu Railway is one of the busiest railway in Japan. Especially during the morning rush hour inside the Tokyo Metropolitan, over 30 trains run toward Shinjuku terminal per one hour. To increase route capacity, quadruple track project began in 1985, completed in 2018. Four front views in this movie are taken in 2000, 2006, 2011 and 2020.
Before 2000, only 2.4km along the stations between Izumi-Tamagawa and Kitami had been quadrupled, and extended 8.8km to Umegaoka station in 2004. Quadrupled Tama River Bridge opened in 2009. In 2018, final underground quadrupled line construction between Umegaoka and Yoyogi-Uehara stations was completed.
