Female Reproductive System Parts & Functions |Female Reproductive System |Class 12 |Kishor Sir |Hin

Hi students,
In this video we will learn about female reproductive system. ( Reproduction in Human )
Female reproductive system contain two organs like internal genitalia and external genitalia.
Internal genital organs are ovary, oviduct, uterus and vagina. And external genital organs includes labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, mons pubis, vestibule, hymen and vestibular glands etc.

1) Ovary :- It is paired and located in lower abdominal cavity. It attached with ovarian ligaments, suspensory ligaments and mesovarium etc. Internally ovary contain cortex and medulla regions.
Ovary contains many follicles. During each menstrual cycle one primary follicle converted into mature follicle.

Functions :- It helps in oogenesis. It also produce estrogen and progesterone hormone.

2) Oviduct ( Fallopian tube ) :-
It is also paired part. It is muscular and tubular part. It contains three parts like infundibulum, ampulla and isthmus.

Function :- It carry fertilized or unfertilized egg. It also provide fertilization site.

3) Uterus :-
It is also known as womb. It is triangular and pear shaped part. It is present behind rectum and in front of urinary bladder. It contains three parts like fundus, body and cervix. It is covered by three layers like perimetrium, myometrium and endometrium. Known as uterine walls.

Function :- It helps in parturition. It also provide implantation site. It also helps in formation of placenta. It also provide nourishment to developing embryo.

4) Vagina :-
It is sex organ of female. It is long, collapsible and muscular part. It is near about 8 to 10 cm. long. Internally it contains transverse folding's known as vaginal rugae.
Lactobacilli activity makes vaginal surface highly acidic to prevent fungal infection to vagina. In virgin female is is covered by thin membrane known as hymen.

Function :-
It acts as a copulation canal. It also helps in release of menstrual flow. It also acts as a birth canal. It is also called as parturition canal. And it also receive penis during sexual intercourse.
