Why I Moved to Boston and Why I'm So Much Happier Here — My International Student Experience

Want to know why I moved to Boston and why I'm so much happier here? As an international student, I share some of the biggest reasons I quickly fell in love with this city — to the point where I couldn't see myself living anywhere else in the US.

That's not to say that Boston is perfect or that there's nothing to critique about it. But having spent five years in Minnesota prior to my move, Boston has been a major upgrade for my international student experience. For one, I have a much easier time explaining my background to friends and employers (for different reasons) than I did in Minnesota.

Plus, the fact that Boston is internationally diverse makes a huge difference for me. Being from Singapore, the access to cuisines from around the world has been a game-changer. Dumplings and bubble tea have never been more essential to my life. Being Dutch, the European architecture keeps me company. Being Indonesian, the ocean, and abundance of seafood keep me content.

It hasn't been an easy year but there are many things I am grateful to have, and that's what this video is about! I'm celebrating the reasons that brought me here. The reasons why I moved to Boston.
