Community Engagement: Two Years of Learnings

In this webinar held on Tuesday 14 December, we explored how community engagement has changed over the last two years - specifically in terms of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) audiences - with the pandemic affecting how we reach and communicate with each other. We discussed past learnings and what the future of CALD community engagement looks like.

Our hosts were Kwabena Ansah, LOTE's Head of Research and Communities, and Sera Yilmaz, Advocate and LOTE National Advisory Group member.

Our guests were:

Grace Edward, Partnership and Community Engagement Coordinator for the CALD COVID-19 Health Engagement Project (CCHEP). The project aims to ensure all people living in Queensland, regardless of their background and English language proficiency, have equitable access to appropriate health information and services to maximise their health and wellbeing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Henrietta Podgorska, Senior Manager in Communications and Engagement at Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Services Inc. Henrietta has successfully delivered several community projects to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) groups, served on national and state advisory groups and maintained an active profile in local community initiatives.

Sunil Menon - Head of Community at Melbourne City FC. Sunil leads a small team to empower better lives through football, uplifting the physical and mental health of young people through a range of programs.
