1.Zoloti Vorota
-It was built in 1024 as one of the three entrances to the fortified city.

2.Kyiv Pechersk Lavra
-Beneath the monastery lies an intricate system of caves along with numerous living quarters and subterranean chapels.

3.National Sports Complex “Olimpiysky”
-After its reconstruction in 1966, the stadium was the largest in the Soviet Union and Europe at the time.

4.The Motherland Monument
-The shield, which weighs 13 tons, has an observation deck at the top that is reached via two elevators.

5.Paton Bridge
-The bridge is constructed from 264 identical blocks and weighs more than 10,000 tonnes.

6.Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
-The red building forms an enormous square—the main facade is 145.68 meters long.

7.People’s Friendship Arch
-The huge (50 m/164 ft diameter) rainbow-shaped arch is made of titanium.

8.National Opera of Ukraine
-It was rebuilt after the previous theater burnt in a fire that was caused by a single candle.

9.St. Sofia Chapel
-The cathedral’s interior boasts mosaics and frescos from the 11th century.

10.A.V. Fomin Botanical Garden
-At the time the greenhouse was built, it was among the tallest in the world.

11.Dnipro River
-Historically, the river made it possible to connect Ukraine to the waterways of Western Europe.

12.Kyiv funicular
-Opened in 1905, the funicular transports about 2.8 million passengers every year.

13.Trukhaniv Island
-Before the Second World War, the island had a population of about seven thousand inhabitants.

14.St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Cathedral
-At some point during the Soviet regime, the cathedral served as a KGB service building.

15.St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral
-The construction of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery required one million bricks.

16.Hryshko National Botanical Garden
-The garden covers 120 hectares and contains 13,000 types of trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants.

17.Parkovy Bridge across the Dnipro
-This is the only bridge across the Dnipro River to have been constructed specifically for pedestrian traffic.

18.St. Michael’s Cathedral
-In the summer of 1936, the cathedral was demolished by the regime that was ruling at the time. It was rebuilt 60 years later.

19.Khreshchatyk Street
-A small river called Khreshchatyk that once ran through much of the valley still runs underground nowadays.

20.Musical fountains
-The highest jet of the main fountain is 35 meters tall.

21.Postal Square
- One of the most ancient squares in Kyiv, with archaeological findings dating back to the 4th century.

22.Independence Monument
-A giant pendulum weighing one-and-a-half tons is suspended inside the column to offer stability against earthquakes.

23.Maidan Nezalezhnosti
- Independence Square has had many names, but it is often simply called Maidan ("square").

24.Andriyivskyy Descent
-The descent, which is 720 meters long, is constructed of laid cobblestones and connects Old Kyiv (the Upper city) to Podil (the Lower city).

25.St Andrew’s Church
- It is a major Baroque church in Kyiv, and as a cultural heritage landmark, it is part of the National Sanctuary "Sophia of Kyiv."
