UK: Corbyn heckled and booed in parliament over Salisbury statement

Leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn is heckled and booed in House of Commons on Wednesday as he responds to the government statement to expel 23 Russian diplomats.

May announced the explusion of the diplomats after Russia missed a midnight deadline to provide answers over attempted assassination of former double agent Sergei Skripal in the UK.

Russia demanded samples of the agent be handed over and warned of repercussions.

Sergei Skripal and his 33-year-old daughter are in critical condition in Salisbury District Hospital after being found unconscious on a park bench on March 4. Police confirmed they are treating the matter as attempted murder by a nerve agent.

The 66-year-old former Russian military intelligence officer was convicted in Russia of supplying MI6 with Russian state secrets. Part way through his jail term, in 2010, he was involved in a spy swap and given refuge in the UK.
