Except, this actually happened in India. Back in 2010, businessman Ajay Singh was stopped at Raja Bhoj Airport after security scanners flagged his everyday Indian spices as heroin and psychotropic substances. Because of this massive technological error, he ended up spending 57 days in jail.

To make matters worse, the forensic lab in Madhya Pradesh didn't even have the proper facilities to test the samples at the time, forcing a lengthy delay until experts in Hyderabad cleared his name. Now, 16 years later, the MP High Court has awarded him ₹10 lakh in compensation.
