Acer circinatum x palmatum “Morton”. It originated from the Morton Arboretum in Illinois and was originally labeled “Morton Arboretum #644-81”, and later shortened to just “Morton” and circulated into the nursery trade. I believe it was later trademarked under “Morning Starburst” bc there was already another cultivar named “Morton”. Another great find @mendocinomaples . It’s my first vine maple type, but actually a circinatum x palmatum hybrid.
