Simon Le Bon & Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran / Arcadia

Host Stu Jeffries interviewed Simon Le Bon & Nick Rhodes for CBC Vancouver's TV series "Good Rockin' Tonite" on the promotional trip for Arcadia's one and only album, "So Red the Rose," described by Simon as "the most pretentious album ever made."
Arcadia was formed in 1985 by Simon and Nick (who dyed their hair black) during a break in Duran Duran's schedule. Roger Taylor was involved only in the recordings as he was working on the other Duran splinter group The Power Station which included Duran's John Taylor as well as Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson of Chic. Arcadia folded in 1986 when Duran re-formed to record their next LP "Notorious." Duran Duran was probably the most popular band worldwide since the Beatles. The band took their name from Roger Vadim's 1960's cult classic sci-fi film "Barbarella" starring Jane Fonda where there was a character played by Milo O'Shea called “Durand-Durand.”
