FX’s hit comedy English Teacher is close to being renewed for a second season! Sources confirm that production could resume later this month.

Created by and starring Brian Jordan Alvarez, the series follows Evan Marquez, a high school teacher in Austin, Texas, as he navigates chaotic students, overbearing parents, and exhausted colleagues. The show also features Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni, and Sean Patton in key roles.

Debuting in September, English Teacher quickly gained critical acclaim and even snagged four Independent Spirit Award nominations, including Best New Scripted Series. Season 1 wrapped in October with a surprising twist—Evan rekindling his romance with ex-boyfriend Malcolm, played by Jordan Firstman.

Despite the show's success, some controversy arose as Alvarez faced allegations from former collaborator Jon Ebeling, which his lawyer has denied. FX has not yet commented on the situation.
