Reducing Embodied Carbon to Reduce Global Warming

The presentation discusses how architects, designers and engineers can meaningfully reduce new emissions with their next building design, even though user-friendly analytical tools are insufficiently developed. Up-to-date information reveals why immediate reductions of “embodied” emission are needed in the design and construction of new buildings and renovations; the relationship between “embodied” and “operating” emissions; and their respective relationship to global warming.
