Mercedes-Benz Sprinter - How to remove / install the headlamps (bi-xenon technology) | W906

Before removing the headlamp unit on the Sprinter, first switch off the ignition and turn the rotary lamp switch to "0".
Open the hood, remove the four screws at the top of the radiator grille and remove the grille.
Pull the radiator grille up and out.
On vehicles with a headlamp washing system, the covers have to be taken off.
Pull the cover towards you along with the washer nozzle.
Unclip the cover and let the washer nozzle retract.
Remove the four mounting bolts from the front-end molding.
Use a detachment tool to pry the side ends of the molding forward.
Note: Work carefully to avoid scratching the paint.
Unclip the front-end molding at the bumper and remove.
The headlamp is fastened at the bottom by two bolts and at the top by one bolt.
After removing these, tilt the lamp unit forward.
Using a small screwdriver, unplug the connector on the back from its socket.
Take out the headlamp.
Install in the reverse order.
After replacing the headlamp unit, perform a function check.
Check the standing light, low beam, high beam, turn signal and cornering light.
Using DAS, check the headlamp range adjustment.
Connect Star Diagnosis to the vehicle and prepare the headlamp aimer unit.
Go to the "Main groups" menu and select "Control units".
Select "Body".
Confirm "HRA Headlamp range adjustment" and select "Actuations".
Confirm "Function test".
Use F3, F4 and F6 to check the following headlamp positions:
The minimum position, ...
... the maximum position ...
... and the position at delivery.
In our case, each of these headlamp range adjustment positions is correct.
You can now log out of DAS and begin headlamp adjustment.
