The House in 1970 by Architects Collaborative
In a high-density urban precinct of New Delhi, the project, a small 1000 sq.ft plot, is nestled among similar-sized plotted residences. With a context defined by haphazard organic development and bare
design intent, The House in 1970 introduces architecture to a context that is predominantly builder-driven. It attempts to focus on the luxury afforded by spaces rather than materials. A dual family home, the house is split into 2 similarly designed duplexes to cater to both families.

Architects in-charge Abhishek Saxena and Madhav Maini explain the process of designing each duplex while responding to the immediate context.
