10 Tips For How To Stay Warm & SURVIVE without Power

Hi Friends! A lot of our friends & family across the country are snowed in without power right now thanks to the winter storm that just hit. Growing up in New Jersey where snowstorms are common during the winter, I wanted to share some tips that could help save a life.

*IMPORTANT*
- Used properly, indoor propane heaters are safe. ... Never place anything on top of an indoor propane space heater. Install carbon monoxide detectors in your home or space where you use your indoor propane space heater. If you have a portable propane indoor space heater, do not move it while it is on.

-Oil, propane, and natural gas fired heating systems, gas appliances and fireplaces all release carbon monoxide as they burn and can be health and fire hazards.

-Sleeping with a propane space heater on is dangerous. If you are using a vent-free propane space heater, using it while sleeping puts you in danger of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
